Stamping punches and die buttons are perishable tools subject to periodic replacement. The perforating punch is the most fragile part of the die assembly, the component most likely to fail resulting in a loss of production, time and money. Large attention was directed to extending the productive life of each die assembly. Punch manufacturers were soon offering punch guide bushings, die buttons and retainers to satisfy this new technology. The addition of these related components simplified the work of the die designers and die builders.

However, the stamping industry is comprised of three separate but supporting areas of specialization as the stamper, the die builder and the tooling component manufacturer. The user and manufacturing groups and their activities are not coordinated.

Therefore, both of taking preventative measures and improving productivity list on the schedule.

By introducing infrared die protection equipment, our workshop can prevent die crashes, reduce downtime, and reduce scrap.

Afterword, we are considering installing load tonnage monitors and proximity sensors to improve part quality, shorten setup time, allow better labor utilization, and potentially allow increase of press speeds instead of the wasting no avoidable repairs.
